Just bragging
How often do you find an IMI stamped unmolested Enya .09 with the early carburetor, nickel screws, box, wrench, and instructions on ebay for cheap money. Not often............ Ya, just bragging
Ranks right up there with the Enya .19 that Ron gave me gratis. Got it all cleaned up Ron just waiting for a new head from Bob Brooks then some bench run time.

Re: Just bragging
That would be an .09-II from between 1960 & 1966.

Me too ---as soon as the thread showed on SH--- I went to Shttrman but he was already sold out
I still have my original 5224 .35 from the late 60s here and would have been cool to have a 55 year younger new one

I had a chance but I am engined up pretty well and passed. It took more than 12 hours for the ebay listing to sell out... not much more though.

Darn Phil
oh well
I saw it a day late...sent a note to shttrman hoping he held back one or two for himself or a later auction... no soap
but he did say he wished he had bought many more and was not expecting them to sale out that fast

Re: Just bragging
No Fred, I missed it. Got to go sit in a corner facing the wall.
I did score an Enya .15 CX-S while Bob had them. Neat little engine that may still be available.
The ME-109 model still hasn't seen air time, nothing but bench time so far. Weather when nice has been to windy to fly, when not windy (seldom) it's raining. Bummers.
I have a couple of other Enya's with that weird early carburetor. No air bleed and no stop, the barrel rotates 360 degrees. Rod, the Enya .09II is a favorite of mine. Enya finished the case differently with a much smoother appearance then their other engines.
Ron's engine in waiting.
Missing some head fins so I haven't ran it yet. When I opened it up Ron, it was clean, clean, clean!!! I boiled it anyway, came out like new. Bob is looking for some parts for a "tear-drop" aka "airfoil" Enya .29 a somewhat "rare" engine too, and he always holds back an order until he can fill it completely so I may have to wait awhile for that new head.

I might have been able to double my money...haha. Too much of a risk for something I might never use. If I had reason to believe I would use it in the next year or so I would have jumped on it.

Bob
I too love the Enya engines but not quite insane enough to collect too much stuff I most likely never use (but I have a few shelf queens)
I love your collection
I really really need to finish my catalog of all this hobby stuff so my widow or kids can properly sell/distribute it
My son is paying attention and knows I have a few pieces that may pay down his mortgage some day
Phil...the $149 + shipping buy in was already a little steep for me too even if I had been paying attention
Much as I would love to own this one... I will pass on the future inflated priced auctions that are coming (I suspect)

Re: Just bragging
Though I have a shelf queen Enya .35, I've known nothing about them until now. Thanks Rod, for posting that link to the .09. That was a good write-up. Now I can go back and read all the other posts after that. I wonder why they didn't call it a .10, since its displacement is .098ci. I also will look up my engine and see what I can learn about it. I think it's a pretty well regarded CL engine. Black plastic square venturi and a wiggly needle. I might put it in my Nobler, which has been hanging too long awaiting a repair.
