OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
I discovered this unusual Enya ,09-IV car/boat engine on ebay and won with a single bid.
Then a week later another one showed up in better condition and from a different vendor. But it came with box and instructions for a OS MAX CZ-1 "buggy" engine that looks unique. So me being me I'm looking for an engine to fill it. Needle in a haystack but thought I would ask here and on R/C Groups.

Re: OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
Looks like this one is set up for a Heli but yes cars and boats too as it is a high performance engine of its day.
Good score you can still snag a aluminum prop plate and aero head to convert if desired. The enya carb should
work with it baring a good match / no air leaks.

Hi Bob, the CZ1 could be found in the 1986 Kyosho Stinger:

Re: OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
Thanks guys, gives me something to go on.
There is one for sale over on R/C Groups ($25.00), but it's an old ad and the seller hasn't contacted me yet. From what I have learned it dates back to the early '60's replaced by the CZ-2 and CZ-12. It would be a shame to let a box like that go to waste.

Bob, The engine dates from 1985. Here is the OS website with 85 models:

Thanks, It seems that I saw a referance to an early 60's manufacture or I mis-quoted it. I did find an old sale on ebay where one went for $40 and the seller clearly stated it's manufacture date as 1985.

Re: OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
I hope you find one. If this engine was indeed replaced by the CZ-2 in '86, that means it was only produced for 1 year, just like the Enya 19X, replaced by the 21X!

Re: OS MAX CZ-1 anyone?
The CZ-1 is an interesting engine, another car it came in is the old Kyosho Advance which was a rear engine two wheel drive buggy which looks similar to the full sized sand rails. it would pop wheelies like crazy. If I remember correctly the only real difference between the CZ-1 and 2 was a displacement increase the one being an 11 and the two being a 12. they ran pretty good would turn around 22k.

This is the Enya Quicky .09. It is a double ball race engine. Ken Enya has actually started selling an airplane version of this .09 now. One with a venturi and one with a carb. I bought one from him for $60. Canadian. It is a screamer.

Now Bob, this is starting to sound serious. Having to go and find an engine just to fill a box??rsv1cox wrote:It would be a shame to let a box like that go to waste.
Bob
Ever considered moving on the box to someone who already has an engine?

OS Max CZ reply to older post
I was looking through some Google, and ran across your post from last year. I have one of these engines. I had been holding onto it in the event I found a Kyosho Vanning or Stinger, but that never happened. So... in the event you still want one, I'd sell this one. It seems to have really good compression.
