Re: My Engine Running.
Yes amazing the 3oz Nano I to go 61 mph with just a 1.25 pitched prop,
down wind pass of course helped.
The 2oz Nano II was designed to hold higher speeds in all directions.
I have yet to fully document it's abilities on Youtube. I have bought a 4k video
camera to film it better it's on the to do list.
Based on existing testing it has gone 11.4% faster with the same props to date.
The plane in theory could hit 68 to 70 mph down wind pass on a stock prop.
2.56 x 4N prop has gone 130 mph with the Nano I
Should do 140 to 145 mph with the Nano II.

I'm looking at the manual and I see that I am within the ranges that says the manual of the manufacturer, now, what happens to the engine as in your case that you are far above what the manual says ??, runs risks ?, can break ?, What is the limit?

Re: My Engine Running.
That is static loading when the engine is held back under maximum load at that point.
When running free in the air the engine does not have to work as hard. It runs cooler
and the metal parts are under less stress.

Well, I understand, but you are taking the engine to incredible turns ... what will be the limit to not break it, it would be a pity to damage the engine!1/2A Nut wrote:That is static loading when the engine is held back under maximum load at that point.

Re: My Engine Running.
Wow Brad what a gold mine of 010 cylinder and piston stock you have!!! I also have a few c/p sets as new. Luckily I see the 010-s show a real longevity if kept clean and treated fine...I have not worn off any c/p set as yet after many flights with 010-s.

Re: My Engine Running.
Yes I am prepared as these engines and parts are getting very expensive to buy.
Even back when I built up my collection it was not cheap. If you make careful bids
on eBay you can yield good purchases. Sometimes it is all or nothing.
To my surprise the small .010 engine can handle very high rpm, the metal
strength to wear ratio is good with this size engine. I also have more aluminum
carb bodies, back plates, spinners, fuel tanks, many glow plugs and stock props.
Look forward to years of enjoyable projects and flying with them.
