Swap Meet at Columbia, Illinois Rolls Around Again...
The years just keep rolling by, and so do the Swap Meets.
My buds from Breezy Hill, myself, and Miss Beth crossed the Mississippi River for one of our favorite Swap Meets at Columbia, Illinois.
Billy got himself a couple Ringmasters, complete with Fox engines, which saved me from temptation...I sure don't need another Ringmaster...but Evil Kim probably would have made me buy them anyway.
My score was small, but powerful, hooking myself a Tee Dee .010 and small free flight plane, with the Tee Dee's box included, along with a not-too-bad Spitzy. Got some cute, treadless wheels, and that wrapped it for me.
Beth set about charming some of the LED lighting guys out of some strips of illumination to outfit her kayak for night operations...a totally separate story there.
Anyway, some pohtos of the place and people...

I was looking pretty hard at it, but already have one (thanks to Ron!!!), and was hoping to get myself a nice O.S. 35 for my Top Flite Hurricane. Of course, all bets are off when there's an .010 on the table !!

Looks like a good meet, Kim. Glad I didn't go, I'd
be broke and single today.

$100-limit that "Good-Kim" set for himself.. "Evil-Kim" would have to wait for another chance at Mt. Vernon.. ..........

Re: Swap Meet at Columbia, Illinois Rolls Around Again...
From what I hear from other couples we have met Renie and I are an anomaly
From day one Aug 1983 we commingled our incomes and vowed to never make any purchase over $$$ (changing target) without discussion... allowing that for certain occasions a gift may be secret and NOT disclosed... at at that we discussed how to accommodate such a purchase without throwing the family finances in a tail spin
She Who Must Be Obeyed just turned 60 yesterday and I got ass handed to me about the $500 gift
Same woman was A OK with a grand worth of rifle for Son's upcoming birthday
Such is life
When I got big into golf...bitching
When I got the best HAM equipment...bitchng
When I thought I might do CL Combat....bitching
When I bought a lot of Firearms...bitching
When I decided to learn reloading..bitching
When I deliberately got a breeder French Bulldog (not the pound) ..bitching
BUT I just smile,,, cuz she knows not to mention about when I bought her a $16,000 embroidery machine, and set her up in a $25,000 climate controlled shop ( that I did all the build labor in) with easily another $10K in sergers, presses, vinyl cutter, computer, TV and expendables....I never poke any of this back at her....
Renie just likes to bitch, and after 34+ years I still love her dearly
Marriage is a combat sport...and it is better with a worthy adversary that you like....grin
