Re: Printable Label for Cox G Size Starter Battery
Excellent work, Levent! Also very pleased to see a picture in that advert of the G size battery clamp / terminal thing I found the other day. Any chance I could see a more full copy of that advert, please? Oops, just noticed you say it's a file on the instructions sheet page.
I have also been working on some Cox reprints. I scanned in and fixed up a parts packet I received and have been printing them out for my own use.

If I read your diagram correctly, it is only a single 'D' cell battery? Will a single battery have enough umpf to start an engine? I would like to try this out. Thnak you.

Re: Printable Label for Cox G Size Starter Battery
I made the Cox G size starter battery box in this way, without soldering: I cut 4 inches by 10 inches thin cardboard and rolled the cardboard around two D size batteries to make a tube. I applied white glue on cardboard while rolling. White glue strengthens tube wall, so no cardboard washers are needed. Then I taped the seam. I printed label on sticker sheet and applied on tube. I cut a circle from 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick plastic sheet for base and opened a hole for bolt. That circle sanded for a snug fit to box. Bolt can be cut with a cutting disc attached to moto tool to adjust it's length about approximately 1¾ ins (45 mm). Cutted screw tip cleaned and smoothed with a file. Bolt, a washer and nut fitted to the base, then base glued in underside of cardboard tube. I slipped D size battery into box. Simply jolt the box to remove battery.

A single D cell will work for a while...not long though.
According to technical documents from Energizer, their standard alkaline "D" cell has an average capacity of about 17,000 mAh (to 0.8v at 25mA cont. drain) and an alkaline "F" cell (can be sourced from a 6v lantern battery) has an average capacity of about 26,000 mAh (to 0.8v at 25mA cont. drain).
Could also go rechargeable, one of those rechargeable glow igniters would probably fit in a "G" cell with minor modifications.
