Cox Starter Battery Box Printable Templates

I made templates for Cox battery boxes for 3 D size cells. A4 size sheets, 300 dpi. I printed on A4 sticker sheet then applied sticker on thin cardboard.
I wrap batteries with electrical tape in parallel, then wrap two pieces of wire on positive and negative poles with electrical tape. Wires attached to nuts on box top.
A4 size pages can be found in Instructions Sheets page.
(For private use only. Can not be sold)

Very nice! I had the outside of a Cox battery box, but it didn't fit any battery size I could get. These should be great.

My New Hero!! I’ve a couple of “ older” battery packs like the ones shown. Always wanted to disassemble and rebuild using rechargeable batteries! Now, I can just print out battery covers and use Nicad batteries!

I should make a 3D printed battery box that holds 3 D cells in parallel then one can replace the batteries easier than taping them together.

Welcome to our forum!! It's really terrific that you took-on the task of reproducing that original Cox graphic! I'm sure that many Cox-modelers will want to re-create that old battery-box!

I couldn’t open the links however, from the sound of the description you wire wrapped the battery terminals with tape. Just wanted to let you know that all alkaline battery terminals will accept solder. If I misunderstood your post I apologize.

Some more tweaks of the battery holder so I can add slots to hold screws for the posts and take up some gaps so it fits better and I think it will be a good option instead of taping or soldering to the batteries.

And fill in the extra space with say stiff cardboard . It would still have that authentic Cox Starter Box look and work!!

I plan to this week. Need to create a plate that attaches to the end of the box to use screws at jack posts for wire to attach to.

Here are some pictures of the CAD. I added round protrusions for a M3 nut. The small hole is where the wire goes through and use a flat head M3 screw to use as a binding post and at the same time clamp the wire tight. I will be printing the first one tonight. Will also print some M3 thumb knobs that use a M3 hex nut.
