Re: Babe Bee Box Question ? yes
Those Cox boxes did have a cardboard insert that was behind the printed cardstock insert. The engine is twist-tied to the insert with the cylinder centered in the cylinder opening on the insert. They made those inserts to be used with both 5cc and 8cc tanked engines as well as with the Dragonfly and RC Bees.
Here's some pictures stolen from some eBay auctions.

The Babe Bee you have there would've originally came on a blister pack, pre 1969.

Re: Babe Bee Box Question ? yes
They started installing slit cylinders on Babe Bees (as well as many other engines) starting in 1978. They even had a Black Widow on the market for awhile that had a slit cylinder...

Make sure that thin wall cylinder babe bee doesn’t have P40 stamped on it if you sell it. Even later medallion .049 had slit cylinders.

A #1 dual port thin wall cylinder is pretty rare in itself, used on Black Widows, RR-1 and Space Hoppers and i think a car?
