I wasn't sure how long, so I guess it will run until there is a clear winner and no more votes for a full day. Does that sound okay?microflitedude wrote:How long will it run?

Yeah, I think once it ran for 5 days. Whatever you think.
Re: Cox Engine of the Month -3 Way Tie Vote-Off
Yeah I suppose if not clear in 5 days let it carry on.
Re: Cox Engine of the Month -3 Way Tie Vote-Off

Nah, I doubt we are that strict.

It has 3 cylinder/piston sets, 2 baby bee chankshafts, 1 brass drive washer, 1 spinner and 1 product backplate. Maybe not something Cox built but has a lot of Cox parts to make it

I don`t think we should be too very picky, there is a limit to what is and is not a cox engine, customized cox engines are still cox engines right? Just like Matt and Bernie and formerly Estes sell/sold cox engines but they arent what a conservative dictionary definition kind of cox collector would say is a true COX engine.
I`d also call all 3 of the finalists COX engines, after all, contestant #2 has as many COX parts as #3 give or take

Re: Cox Engine of the Month -3 Way Tie Vote-Off
I voted.
We seem to have quite a discussion on what is and what isn't a Cox engine.
If we limit ourselves to "stock", where do we draw the line. If someone submits a 1952 Space Bug that has a 1954 replacement cylinder (with the larger plug)...is that stock?
What about some of the last ESTES "parts is parts" engines, are they stock?
Of course a Big Mig with a Cox glow head - well...
IMHO, if it's mostly Cox or made from a Cox and the owner considers it a Cox...fair game. But of course, that is only one opinion.
Your thoughts?
George

So what exactly is the winner, a Barnette radial? Does it, or could it run?
