In my game an EGR valve stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation. The only purpose of it (apart from stuffing up the performance and reliability of an engine) is to reduce toxic emissions. What is the purpose of the "EGR" valve in this instance?

That's exactly what it means. It's the throttle control for the GTP Nissan and looks like a white box with tubes. I haven't seen it in real life and don't know how it works.

Off-topic: EGR is the culprit in causing many BMW diesel car engines to inadvertently set fire these days, causing BMW car recalls to dealer shops around the world..diesel exhaust gas recirculation into intake air reduces the temperature of fuel burn in the cylinder, thus reducing toxic NOx contents in flue gases, AFAIK.

I think a wrongly routed recirculation duct overheats in BMW-s and this setting fire to the engine

OVERLORD: the EGR valve is just below the blue goo and the bulb. The black tube is going into one end of the valve. The other 2 ends of the EGR are not connected as yet.

Strap starter how To maque them flexible like new first let the part in hot water Not boling in pot y use long heat résistent conteiner make sure strap Not bent let it sit long as posible.befor water start To cool down too mutch place part dry and aply wd40 lube
on the part let cool down place part in bag let it for night it wil penetrate in plastiques make it flexible like new

I am glad you posted this , I have a car just like it and was wondering if it could bee changed over to a pull start engine without a lot of trouble ? Your engine stats and runs easily

I have a little trick to start it easily the best is to prime it with the head removed from the engine With the exhaust open fulltrotle When the engine is well primed, the gas spray when it is cranked Try not to flod Then put the head back In cold weather it's harder I remove the heat sink just for the first start
