Re: Dick Russ' 1/2A Streaker, my build project
Thank you Levent, the credit should go to Dick for the excellent workmanship that has gone into the kit. I wish I had the craft and manual skills you guys all have here on CEF that really shows on the products you present here.
I will soon maiden it with a tuned pipe that will change the lateral balance and I need to figure out how best to run the pipe along the fuselage without thee need yo add ballast weight on the other side.

New Streaker in work
balogh wrote:Been there, seen that, done that Dick, before I gave up using solid tanks with heavy clunks.
Ever since I use party balloons for tank with only 1 fuel line, one filling line, I have no fuel supply problems no matter in what position the plane flies.
Glad you gave finally doctored the tank and eventually enjoyed the flights...can't wait to see a video of your Streaker on duty...mine will take some more days before I maiden it with a tuned pipe and RC carb..
If you can go onto "(20+) Radio Control Pattern Planes of All Eras" I was able to post my video. Not real quality but at least you will be able to see it zoom by.
I really am looking forward to seeing yours finished- the two of us went through a lot to get your kit after being on the "Slow boat to China" (ha-ha) for nearly two months.

Re: Dick Russ' 1/2A Streaker, my build project
Dick,
I proudly present your model, built with my humble skills - I wish I had the skills and patience you CEF friends all have.
The all-up weight with the tuned pipe is just about 20oz
It is late Sunday afternoon here, so I will maiden it most likely in a weeks time.
Thank you Dick for the kit and your instructions manual, and thanks to Brad for the valuable advice on how to best tune the pipe.

Thanks Fred..some minor works like adding a tail skid or wheel, and fixing the tuned pipe with some thermal insulation pad on the wing still need to be done..

New Streaker in work
Hello my friend. You have done a beautiful job in finishing the Streaker. The only think I see missing is Streaker decal that goes on the fin which will finish it out. i guess you received one of the earlier kits that didn't come with the two decals. i have your address and will mail you a couple to install. i think it just dresses up the plane. I will attach a picture of the decal.balogh wrote:Dick,

Re: Dick Russ' 1/2A Streaker, my build project
Looking great Andras way to go with the project build!!
The pipe looks sexy with the plane, can do a simple stinger mount.
Note below the pipe just touches the front part of the wing but does it no harm.
With the foam wing there must be some caution taken. Simple low drag effective
stiff wire loop stinger mount used with the Nano.
Better view the wire is pressed fitted in a slightly undersized drilled hole thru a wood block inside the fuselage.
Can remove for maintenance easy enough and has held up to many flights.

Andras, it looks terrific. That should be a lot of fun and were looking forward to seeing that fly.

Brad, unfortunately the fields I use are all grass covered and I typically hand launch my planes, the Streaker included
