Re: Testor Zero : How to disassemble it
I have disassembled many of Testor's Fly-em series but never the zero. Its just a matter of manipulation of the pieces, but your on the right track lifting the belly pan out from under the cowl.
My Zero is new never ran so I did not take it apart. But it's different from yours's as it does not have that lever.

Do you really have to disassemble? It looks new.

Re: Testor Zero : How to disassemble it
I am not 100% certain, but it could be the "position lever" for the needle valve setting? Seems like I've read somewhere Testors was trying a cheap alternative to make the engine easier to start with a "slide valve"rather than a screw/thread needle.
I can't find it now, but somewhere back in time I did a "One Screw Wonder" dissassembly of the silver/yellow P-51. Remove just one screw and the wing, landing gear all pulls away from the fuse. there is a round ring of plastic that holds the upper fuse and the engine clam-shelled in between the wing bottom. The black cowl on your zero might be a separate piece that snaps on over the engine. I've never seen one up close.

Re: Testor Zero : How to disassemble it
I discover that I can pull the lever.
And I can remove it too
Easy to push on.

Re: Testor Zero : How to disassemble it
I have two Zero's, both have that POS needle valve. It really is two positions, horrible and worse. Talk about reinventing the wheel. There was nothing incorrect or troublesome with the standard Testors needle. For the life of me, I can't see how if expense was a issue they would use this.

When an American says, "watch my French" usually means use of terms considered vulgar before women and children.
Lorsqu'un Américain dit, "regardez mon français" signifie généralement l'utilisation de termes considérés comme vulgaires devant les femmes et les enfants.
POS = Tas de merde (mauvaise qualité - poor quality)
