That's a ripe one! I have no doubt that engine and packaging will definitely be getting the long awaited TLC it deserves.
Re: .010 Tee Dee ever so nasty in a blister pack
Looks like the tank may be ruined, appears to have been mounted in a plane with a tight cowling, causing the exhaust to vent down over the plastic venturi mount over the tank fuel line discharge. If you don't have spares, fortunately Bernie CA still has the aftermarket red anodized aluminum tank, venturi mount and an original later black tankless back if you want to go with an external tank.

Re: .010 Tee Dee ever so nasty in a blister pack
I have a decent replacement but decided to doll it up a bit with parts from Bernie and Matt.
We did a couple of threads here about what causes that. Mostly it was the blister pack that got my attention. All my early engines came in blister packs like that. I only saved one, a Space Bug Jr. but threw the illustrated cardboard away.

That will give the .010 a new lease on life, Bob. Perhaps someone here will come through with the reproductive artwork, (so Jacob @Admin can file it here under instructions) so you can re-create that missing Space Bug card?

Levent Suberk did do a recreation of the card for the .010. You'll have to ask him for it.

Hello, Jacob. I was referring to Bob's comment on his .049 Space Bug blister pack. He tossed the original card sometime back, thought if someone had dibs may be could help him restore his.Admin wrote:Levent Suberk did do a recreation of the card for the .010. You'll have to ask him for it.

The insert Levent was working on was never completed because he needed a close up of the flags in the lower left corner.

Maybe Bob could send him an up close photo off his.

What a beautiful engine the Cox Tee Dee .010 is! I'm glad Bob that this one in particular is in your hands, it will be a luxury once you do the restoration process.
I will be attentive to the progress friend!

Good idea Jacob. I will do that.
The insert seems to be in good shape. But you have to be careful when "cleaning" it. Solvents and alcohol are no no's as are detergents. The most effective things I have found are Johnson's Pledge and Howard wax carefully applied on a soft cloth and then only used when the insert is really nasty. Otherwise just a microfibre cloth is sufficient.
Thanks Mauricio, I also love the little things, but in my life I have only ran two. But I loved they power they put out and the bumble bee sound. Today I have just four, three NIB (two on my .010 tri-plane) and a used one on the nose that I got recently. Oddly the PO placed the NVA assembly on the worng side.
I'm really eager to start on the .010 version of the "Silver Lining" original. Pot-bellied fuselage should accept the internally enclosed torpedo of the original and the mid wing will add variety to the series.

Well, with the new wrench included with the nastybox engine, you could remove the venturi and flip the NV over to the other (correct) side!!
