Re: A days work and Oh oh I know what that means. Part one
Part two. The Oh, oh part.
After removing the engine, heating it a bit and a drop of light oil in the ports I tried to turn the wheel. Groaned to a slow turn it suddenly stopped. Hard stop. Turned it in the other direction, another hard stop. Know that, been there. Broken or disconnected connecting rod.
Disassembled it and yes, the collar had come off the piston. Perhaps by someone (PO) tried turning the wheel against the top fused piston dragging the collar off. A combination of tubing and a brass drift reattached it. Chances of staying put. Don't know, but it did not go back on easy.

All four brass bushings had to come out, cleaned and secured with 560. Now riding on a cleaned axle they turn freely.

Rushed to completion

Does have some warts. Came without the red collars on the axles. Had to improvise, O rings on the back plus clear tubing, robbed a collar off the spare engine and put it on the front. O rings actually hold the two halves together.

Nice save on the old car Bob…. Photo log tells a good story….Someone had a lot of fun with it by the patina it was left with….How are the tires on something that old?…. Old and hard or think they could stand a run?

They are pretty hard, but have nice tread. Check out how worn the tire is on my spare engine. Bald would be kind. Yes, they would run a circle quite well.

Word picture.............Yeah, I do include a lot of pictures in my posts. Pictures save words and words mean typing which I don't like to do. My fingers seem to go where they want to go, not where I want them to go. The result is something like code, if I didn't go back and correct everything.

6 prunes, 1 apple cut up, 1 slice sandwich ham, a dozen grapes, topped off with bagged salad covered in Ranch dressing. Desert a Hersheys bar, Reese's peanut butter cup, and a glass of milk. Makes up for all that healthy stuff............

Replaces the bottle of beer and Doretos of ten years ago.
