Why do I find it so funny...

I think you are taking it too far Dave. He is just playing around with his kids. Training in weapons safety is not entirely necessary. Just takes common sense. My father taught me well and he never had any training. It is also VERY easy to differentiate Toys from Weapons. Do not make it seem like he is doing a bad thing.

When at rest...I ALWAYS employed the safety on my Bic Pen ! Had my own holster for it too...

That's good precaution, sure.

But a time will come when you'll need to teach them the serious side of guns.

Witness the all too frequent school shootings most recently in Ohio. Another here in Washington ocurred when a kid brought a gun to shool in a back pack where the weapon accidentally fired and critically injured an eight year-old girl. She is expected to recover but will require several extensive and expensive surguries.

Who will pay for those?

BTW, if it makes YOU feel any better I am a member of the NRA had have been for many years and it it ISN"T because I want firearms banned.

There's also the more technically-oriented 'Armor Piercing' version, where you employ a "click-pen" with it's top removed. Use a finger nail to compress the point and ink tube into the lower body, carefully aim (often with a 'Lobbing' technique as with mortars), then release the ordinance!

I use to wrestle with my dad all the time. One time on vacation, one of us thought it would be fun to add a rubber knife into the horseplay. That was so much fun and is one of my fondest childhood memories, because I was having fun with my dad.

I always wrestled with my kid, we still do, only problem is he's now 17 and can kick my butt, I always seem to end up with a pulled muscle or sore neck or something.

It's interesting...growing up in the 50's & 60's guns were part of our culture and we had a real respect for REAL guns. Now days guns are almost taboo and kids don't really know how deadly they are.

I have always been taught to treat a gun like it is loaded. Never point it at something/someone. Unless of course you want it dead.
