Cox, Wenmac, Corgi and Aurora
Greetings.
I have inherited a large toy collection. My brother-in-law collected mostly vintage model cars and airplanes. I have a few questions. First, it is my understanding that Aurora released 4 airplanes in a "Goodyear" series in 1961. I have heard that the Denight Special is one of those. It is in the box. I am wondering what the other three are just in case I have those three too.
I have many Cox cars: Dune buggy, Command Jeep, Baja Bug, etc. The Command Jeep seems very hard to find. Is it rare? I have a NIB Command. I keep thinking it is a replica but I don't think they were replicated. All have the .49 engine.
I have an entire storage unit of toys that I am trying to sort through and decide what to do with them.
I am not sure how to attach pictures or I would post the pics!
Thanks.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Pegs. You might need to make a few more posts here before you can attach a picture. Just a sort-of security thing I believe.
You can just let us know a few details about yourself to get your post count up, and then check to see if you can attach pictures. It's a little tricky the first couple of times, but you'll get the hang of it. Try searching "posting an image". I know there's a tutorial in here somewhere.
Rod.
p.s. member Mark Boesen may be able to help with info. He knows heaps about that stuff.

Thanks for the photo info. I will try to post.
Indeed we have a ton of goodies.
The collection is from Santa Clara California. We moved it to Fayetteville Arkansas so we could sort and sell some of the collection and decide what we want to keep. It is kinda scary not really understanding what you have. This collection was my brother in laws life. We want to make sure pieces do to those who love them as much as he did.
I can't wait to post pictures and share them with all of you.
I am still interested in the Aurora Good year series if anyone has any information.

Some Aurora posts here, Mark Boesen is the man to talk to. Link to his faceplant page in thread.
He mentions four Goodyear models. The B25 would go for stupid money.
Another Goodyear racer was Little Toni.

DOH!!!
and here I am, in Santa Clara, CA.
It's free advice, worth what ya pay, but
as a guy who cleaned out his parents house, and recently helped with 2 other houses,
AND loves old toys
Look through and see what YOU like. What has meaning to YOU.
Keep that.
decide how much time you want to spend, and put the rest on eBay for maximum value, if you want $$ out of it
or find the collectors (like on here) if you want it going to good homes
but they key? find what YOU like, keep that.
get rid of the rest.

Thank you!
Great advice. We are keeping a few toys from our youth!
I wonder if you knew my brother-in-law? Tom Whitby. I think his online name was Toyman.
If anyone is looking for something specific, let me know. While I am inventorying and selling, I can keep an eye out for it. We really have a lot and want to make sure it gets to people who will love them.

"Pegs"!! Hello and welcome to the forum. We are always sorry to hear of the passing of someone who had similar interests as we have here. Sorry for the loss of your brother in-law. There is an "introduction" section on the home-page.. where you could tell us more about yourself and your brother in-law's interest in the vintage items that he collected over the years. Even if only for nostalgia intel/conversation.
Thank you for reaching out to us.
