cheapest running turbine engine
hey guys
I am on a quest to run and own one of almost all engine types
and I now want to play with a jet engine
who has a cheap (and I mean CHEAP) running turbine engine with all parts needed to start it
it wont ever fly
it might get 5 a 10 hours of run time with me
mostly showing it off and demonstrating it
and after that it will be a display piece in my cabinet
I realy hope somone here can help me find one

Re: cheapest running turbine engine
I have no experience with turbines and even the least expensive one I recall seeing was a couple thousand U.S. dollars. May be cheaper, but way out of my league.
My idea of expense was under $15.00 for a Cox .049 R/C Bee around 1978. Reason why I was into half-A's in college was affordability on a student budget. Even now, my budget is under $100.00 for an engine.
There may be someone here more familiar, but most of us here are small glow, diesel, and may be Jetex/Raptor jet engine enthusiasts.
If you don't get a reply in a couple days, I'd try R/C Groups and R/C Universe forums.

Minijets make kits for modellers and they are easy to construct. However no stock nowadays.

Re: cheapest running turbine engine
On at least the earlier ones, I read that their life was measured in 10's of hours, not hundreds. Would there be a possibility on a used turbine, that you'd be buying one that the life has been spent and no longer safe to be operational?robot797 wrote:I dont want new and If I buy new it would be a 1600 china special
Just curious ....
