Trouble With Plan

Trouble With Plan
After fixing up my friend's GollyGeeWhiz I decided that I want to build one. Problem is, the plan is in green. If I were to print it out it would use a ton of color. If I change the setting to black and white then the green just turns to black. Is anyone capable of modifying it so I can print it without using a ton of ink?
Plan is here: http://www.thunderbirds.org.au/12a_plans.html

Yeeow, That's a lot of green background. I thought I might have an answer but it fell through. I'll tinker with it and see if i can come up with anything. You can save it to a flash drive and go to a print shop and let them print it for you.

Re: Trouble With Plan
I would have built this one long ago if not for that green. I could print it off but getting the scaling correct can take some time (and money) if the person doing the printing does not know what they are doing. Had that happen a couple of times. I converted the pdf to jpg and tried to change the color with Paint but still had not luck.

Lol. There are a ton of good plans on that site. Many neat looking ones. I like the Arrowhead but it seems like it would be a pain to build. The GollyGeeWhiz would be easier and plus I have seen the internals of one.

Yeah, I bookmarked it. Thanks for posting.
Re: Trouble With Plan
I have downloaded all of them in the 1/2a Combat section. Check out the other selection of plans they have. Lots of larger ones as well.

Re: Trouble With Plan
GollyGeeWhiz guys, You can get the plan from the AMA plans service for five bucks. It is plan # 118 from Nov 1975.
OR, you can import the plan into a photo altering program like Photoshop and do a color reversal, then change the green to black...I'd go for the AMA service.
BTW, the first plane I built from magazine plans was a Roger Dodger in the 1950's. The plan was black with white lines in a then 5 or 6 year old mag that someone gave me. I scaled it up from the mag using the scale on the plans. Most computers in those days were tube-type in labs and military environments. Transistor radios were getting popular and telephones were rotary dial type. The plane flew badly because I built-in a terrible wing warp...but it did fly!

there is a free photoshop look a like here:
http://gimpshop.com/photoshop/install/
i'm trying it now. looks like they want to install 4 or 5 other programs on your computer to be free so i cancelled.
there is also a photoshop viewer here:
http://en.softonic.com/s/adobe-photoshop-viewer
i did not try since it was from the photoshop manufacturer.
and lastly sometimes you can purchase an older student version of photoshop for less then $50.00.

I use a program called "PDF Converter" to change the format to .jpg, then import it into Paintshop Pro 7 (or any graphics program) reverse it to a negative image, then change the green lines to black (or as near black as it will do it) then, if you want to, you can change it back to .PDF using any later version of MS Word or similar.
