Yes, Keith took up chainsaw jugling after he mastered cat juggling. (Actually he cheated because he used dead cats) lol!

I used information from this source when I "re-habed" my '83 vintage Homelite 240.

The most difficult part was getting the carburetor right but I did it. Beer Cheers

You have a pic of that 240? I think I have one.

Only thing the XL needs is a chain tensioner, hasn't had one for 20 years or more. Runs great.

Aw for Pete's sake, I just spent 10 minutes of my life watching big ol boys cutting logs with V8 chainsaws. Huge fun! As best as I can tell, the engines had the blade on the flywheel end, with the guys pushing down against the torque twist(for lack of a better term). I suppose it's easier to control that way.

10 minutes?... Is that all?
I surfed around for about 30 minutes myself.
I don't feel so fat now after watching some of those "well fed" individuals.

Lmao,,my work is done here.

No downforce push needed on the handlebars when your wrestling about 4-500 lbs of v-8 fury. Seen that one in action. Hope it never spits the chain,,someone would be mamed.

Hmmmm..... My Homelite 240 never had a chain tensioner it's done by manually adjusting the bar. The XL may be different I dunno.

It's pretty darn cool, it's not going to make you rich, but there is a niché market out there for them. I would visit vintage chain saw forums as well as this one.

Not sure if that was your video, but if it was, it would be best to not spin it around on the tile floor, it's abrasive.

Great piece.

Did anyone see this video posted earlier in the thread:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwHjaNt4vdxyYVZLMzUwT080UmM/edit

I watched about 26 minutes and saved it for later. This is what you call serious hard work.
Rusty

EDIT: Later, while my supper settles and I procrastinate, I watched the rest of it. Four hundred year old trees, all the way from the Canadian forest, down the rivers, coaxed through the rapids with poles, ropes, horses and dynamite, and finally to the sawmill and onto trains and freight ships. I wonder who works that hard these days.

Is the engine-size stated in cc's? What I would do would be considered heresy by most.. but that engine would swing a big propeller if you could have an adapter-plate made for the output-shaft. You might be the first to have a giant-scale RC plane powered by a genuine Cox engine! Enterprising modelers were making such conversions before the first purpose-built Zenoah engines made the scene decades ago. The engine-mounting provisions would need to be examined.. to determine if it would be feasible.

In any case.. we'd all love to see some pics of your Cox man-cave!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cox chainsaw zombie thread lives on!.

Sugar Creek is still punching out carb gaskets I think.  Purchased a couple sets for the sawdust twins years back.
https://www.sugarcreeksupply.net/products/cox-carburetor-kit

Be aware!!,,If you have the "fuel pump" grey style carburator with the "Oiler" vacuum provision on the handelbar,,you will need 2 kits for the small round disks.  One for the vacuum operated pump and one for the oiler.

The black carbs are a peach to tune,,the grey carbs can be a bit tricky if you have low vacuum.  More often than not if I get a grey carb,,it has cracks on the main body where the high and low screw in,, Then it's trash.  It wont tune right.  Tried to fix those to a frustrating loss.
