The Who in Tulsa

The Who in Tulsa
Spent yesterday evening 50ft away from The Who, listening to Quadrophenia and other great tunes.
Now I know why they are considered one of the best live bands. It was my first time seeing them play. It was the best Valentine/Anniversary gift ever!

Re: The Who in Tulsa
You Dog! Lucky dog. I stupidly passed on an opportunity when they came to Charlotte back just before Kieth Moon died. I've seen countless concerts. Starting in high school I tried to see them all, and kept it up through my 30s when most finally stopped touring before the great start of the "Return" appearances began... and the Who somehow escaped me. So did the Stones, Floyd, Aerosmith never came this way, and a few others I missed, but it's a short list.

The one that got away...... I would have loved to see them before Keith and John passed. They were in Greensboro this past November........
It was a great show, you would never know they are pushing 70.
Long live Rock!!!!!

Pino Palladino on Bass and Scott Devours on drums as Zak Starkey was ill. Simon Townshend played rythm guitar and sang vocals. There was a brass section and a guy on keyboards as well as the piano. The names of those fellers allude me at the moment.
Opening act was a band called Vintage Trouble. Also quite good.

Re: The Who in Tulsa
I saw "the boys" back in the mid seventies.
My ears are still ringing.
Glad you had a great time.
I can see Pete windmilling away.
Was it Chris Stainton on keyboards?
Bob

Yep, Chris Stainton.
Pete still does a mean windmill and Roger is still twirling a microphone!
Must have been quite a sight to see them all together.
