Wow, the Dooling used 40% Castor oil in Methanol. Does not require nitro. Not having a Dooling, really don't know. It is interesting that they measure the advance with respect to the points breaking in fractions of an inch.crankbndr wrote:Wish I could do that. In 1963 I was 10, these were on the coffee table every month. I was captivated by the battle between Craig Breedlove in Sprit of America and Art Arfons in Green Monster. At Shell gas stations you could get a chrome plastic model Sprit of America about two feet long and wind up.
I have one NIB one of my collection favorites. What a great time to be a kid!!

Aeromodelling by H.R. Warring, 1966. Cover shows Ken Willard's Roaring 20 that was published in June 1962 Model Airplane News https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=1429 and kitted by Top Flite in 1965 https://outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=12011.
Revco was a pharmacy chain in the 1960's. Book suggested retail was $1.45, Revco's price was $0.49. I was 12 then, had already built Comet 32-in. span rubber powered Sparky, the largest model to date I did. Also had completed a Walt Musciano Scientific 18-in. span stand-way-off-scale Grumman F6F Hellcat full fuselage with vacuformed plastic turtle deck and silkspan covered built-up wing, powered by .020 Pee Wee.
Here's a sample, Pages 126 & 127:
