Re: Fox 36x Engine
My 36x uses fuel much slower than my Fox 35's. Not sure why but it does. Then again I was just using a 10x5. I need to stock back up on 9x6 props. I am not sure how fast it is running. There is zero leak in compression when hot. I ran five ounces and it took quite some time to finish it out.

Re: Fox 36x Engine
Rolla, if you purchased one of Walter's kits, you just bought the best kit ever designed for control line. No one does a finer job in design or laser cutting than Walter. End of story. He's the best. You get what you pay for as they say. Ken

Glad you are pleased Rolla.
I was looking on Outerzone and the Manx wouldn't be hard to scratch of you felt like going that route.

Re: Fox 36x Engine
The Manx is very simple. I have considered scratching building it before. The next on my build list is the Scrapper or the Sweet Sweep. It will most likely be the latter. Walter has been sick and had to leave the hospital early due to his insurance not paying the bills. I imagine he has some heavy debt creeping towards him and I want to help out. He is a very nice guy. Highly religious as well.
I am extremely thrilled with this kit. It is the nicest I have experienced by far!

Re: Fox 36x Engine
I may have solved my fuel issue. To an extent. I can buy Methanol locally for $7 a gallon. Klotz has a quart of castor for $8. Nitro seems to be only available for $50 a gallon. Plus a $24 hazmat fee. So I am going to try running straight methanol. If the power loss is too extreme with the Foxes then I will attempt to try and get nitro. Eventually. That will be a ways off though.

Re: Fox 36x Engine
Hope it works. It may be tough to needle. For $8 more you can get the Powermaster. Try it and see. I would hate for you to spend the money and not have it work though.

Re: Fox 36x Engine
Nitro is overrated (OK, that might be a trolling statement) Nitro brings some of its own oxygen to the party so you get more fuel/mass in the cylinder which improves performance.
On larger engines you may not notice a difference in actual use performance without nitro, your tach may only see a couple hundred RPM change, and the noise level will be slightly lower.
Try it and see.

Re: Fox 36x Engine
I am mainly doing this so I can get the exact mix that I want. Plus it comes close to $15 per gallon. No hazmat either.
