I'm still wearing mine over my shoulder since I got off to a late start after my thrilling neighborhood 1/2A exhibition yesterday. I needed one really bad after that.

Looks like just you around here Rusty! Just like me and my goofy National 8-Track Day on April 11. We should come up with a National Cox Engine Day!

How did the exhibition go? Did you neighbor take the lines?

Re: Did anyone besides me celebrate Towel Day, May 25?
It went fine, we had fun. I flew a few nice wild flights and managed not to have any premature landings. I'm getting pretty good with the speed on those short lines. I did put it in my neighbor, Chris's hand. I demonstrated the controls, cranked it and he gave the signal. I made sure the lines were tight and let go. It quickly went up, down, zip-zip and hit the grass. Didn't hurt anything but the prop. I think that Big Mig screaming at 25k was a little intimidating, but it was just a 6x2 APC... and a small bubble of fuel. I was all set to trot across the street for another one, but everyone decided they'd rather come back over for beer and ribs. It was the first time my son has seen me fly since I used to dork it every other flight, and never that fast either.cribbs74 wrote:RknRusty wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Towel_Day

Re: Did anyone besides me celebrate Towel Day, May 25?
The movie and stories are classic... I admit having to view several times before the subtle things sunk in to my older mind.... as a younger man I read almost EVERY SciFi author out there and I still can NOT wait for replicators and transporters.... ( thank you Gene Roddenberry)...BTW ever notice how all members of StarTrek carry a GUN!!!...Think about it
That said, HitchHikers Guide to the universe was a bit over my head for several years...much like Rocky Horror Picture Show...( I still do not get the cult following)...
Anyway, I just wanted to say that as sophisticated as I think I am, there is always something that truly amazes me...I can not wait for SuperDave to chime in with his unique perspective on the "towel day"
Fred sez... I am secretly wishing that Frank Herbert was still with us, and personally convinced that L Ron Hubbard is still fooling the Fed, Tom Cruise, and Travolta!!!! grin...wink... ( If you think I am whacked read his Brothers book about the man)
oh hell.. grow the hell up you ninnies...Scientology is a friggin cult just like the Catholic Church and especially the whacked out Muslims
PS... I know this crosses the line but as a genetic Jew raised Roman Catholic and on my way to the Seminary when I found out about "girls n dope" I think I get a little lee way....mostly cuz my true religion is Cox and Glow fuel...sprinkled with a bit of combat control line circle dizzy!!!
