Suspicious Minds
I just got back to office to find ANOTHER parcel from the US waiting for me.
My partner who is also my 'partner' (never start a business with your Missus) commented "looks like a bit
of money being spent somewhere".........
If you guys hear about a man being murdered by having 14 (and counting) small model aeroplane engines inserted
in various orifices over Christmas it'll mean she has the received credit Card statement.

Re: Suspicious Minds
John, my man, the remedy is simple:
My wife and I have a mutual agreement that she has her money, I have my money and we have our money. House hold expenses are covered by OUR money. Providing she can "covor" her credit card expenses and I can do the same without incurring interest expenses each of us may spend their money as they choose.
This has worked for us for over forty of our 50 year marriage. It originated when I tired of justify expeditures like a new fishing reel, old car parts, model aircraft etc. She enjoys the freedom to do the same with her interests.
May be this is the reason that our marriage has endured and flourished for 50 years? Try it and you may like it.
(no consultation fee) Consider it a Christmas present.

Re: Suspicious Minds
John that is why we have friends
Purchase the item and get it shipped to his house then you got to collect it and tell your missus it was a gift.

OR........
I perfer the lease agreement, the trick is to get YOUR clauses written into the agreement as well Reting and owning have their good points too though; the big trick is NOT to be owned
Not all of us are quite as fortunate as you SuperDave, my hat is off to you
John G ; try the research project excuse;works for me but then again so does blaming it on the kids; What will I do when they are ALL grown up

Re: Suspicious Minds
The problem with leasing is that it's right next door to buying...and allows violation of one of the basic tenants of bachelor survival...someone else's underwear in your dresser. While easily denied, this is the subtle relationship equivalent of the surf sweeping way out to sea, just before the tsunami makes it's entrance...

Well if the under wear is in the dresser rather than on her well it can't be too bad.

Re: Suspicious Minds
That was good advice. By far, the most expensive thing I ever did was to make a bad choice for a wife. The second most expensive thing was to get fid of her (just divorce). The second thing, is spite of its expense, was worth every penny! Now I can raise my daughter as I see fit and buy all the model airplanes I can afford without having to justify any of it.
