Thanks Eric. the leadouts run through the wing to the belcranks in the fuse.. I think i'm going to cover the wings but leave the fuse wood with sanding sealer and paint.getback wrote:Coming along Nicely!! Re: building a Guillows kit P 40
I'd cover the whole thing if I were you. My eldest son's last Scale ship was a 27 inch Guillows FW-190 with a Fuji 09 R/C with a JRoberts bellcrank in it and it was all 1/32nd planked with tissue over it. Pretty strong and flew well. He won Jounior Scale at the Nats two years in a row with it, still looks nice today hanging in my hangar.
With a lot of incidence in the wing like the plans it was trim sensitive for speed, ie; it climbed when you went faster so needed a lot of down and opposite as it slowed. Just like a real airplane.
He made those big wing to fuselage intersevtion fairings from card stock just like the plans and it works very well, trace the template and white glue it once you have it finally in position. Looks great and is an easy technique.
Nice to see good looking Scale models built here, look forward to seeing more.

Looks Good to me Joe , I am not sure of the weight but I think that is reasonable for a TD .051 what prop are you going with or have you got that far ? Eric
