Antique and classic C/L and R/C balsa planes - birds for COX engines
I was wandering on the net to try to find some Almost Ready to Fly balsa planes that would fit my COX 010 through 051 size engines....wanting to build my next R/C project..
And found this wonderful site where C/L a well as R/C balsa models made back in as early as the mid last century are sold....just in case someone is interested.

Neither did mine, but like a kid in a candy store I went through all 17 pages and selected the Cleveland Spad kit and the Sterling F4U-1 kit.
The Spad quells my recent Spad urging and the Sterling F4U gives me access to all the goodies that my present Sterling F4U kit is missing including proper decals and plans. It's a sealed kit so I will hate opening it, especially at an entrance fee of $125.00 plus shipping. I just gotta see if that crazy canopy is the same.
Shipping though is reasonable as the seller is right next door in Kentucky.

I found this site just after I had bought on eBay a Sterling Cosmic Wind a bit higher than this site sells it.....I was a bit ballistic but finally figured it is good to know there is a site with a bonanza of 1/2A size RC planes.

Here's a guy on ebay I came across last week. He has lots of 1/2 kits. Here's a link to his store and info. Lots of ways to spend our money.

He want's $107 for the Guillows P-38 while the oldmodels guy want's $48. I was going to add one (I think he has a couple at that price) but that's a lot of stick building for my shaky hands. I hope someone here gets it though, I would love to see it built by one of the true craftsmans here.

The same with me, as far as running my fleet of COX engines in the rest of my life are concerned....and I badly need those ARF kits...unfortunately again, a kit like the ones on old models site will cost me a fortune in shipping plus 27%VAT and import duties here....you guys/US should join the EU to allow me tax free shopping there....or the EU should join NAFTA.... of course just joking, either way !!!

I don't know about his Guillows kits, but he has good prices on the Herr kits. The only way I've done better is at swap meets. I built the Herr Aqua-Star RC float plane, great kit and easy build. I'd like the 1/2A J-3 RC kit to put on floats, too.

Just something to consider, Guillows kits generally have great designs with very poor wood selection. The older kits are die smashed but the newer kits are all laser cut with better wood selection. Knowing what your buying is key.
