Parkzone T-28 Bind and crash
It seems I have posted a thread about this before but I can't find it.
Crashed/broken ebay buy cheap. My son has two, I few one and crashed it a couple of years ago. Saw this ebay ad and thought I might give it a second try.
I repaired the broken wing, fuselage, and tail with Formula 560 which works great. I used a wedge of balsa to fix a missing/crushed piece.
High tech jig to position the wing for the 560.
Bound it to Marks transmitter and tried it. Unsecured, it just took off full speed and bounced off all the cabinets in my workshop befor I finally shut the transmitter off. I did not know there are just two speeds, full and off. Later I wise'd up and built a hold-down for it.

I got a chuckle out of that title and the image of that thing bouncing around your shop …. I’ve had a few surprises too!!……. Props flying away, Letting the magic smoke out of something, etc…Repairs look good and the two together look good too…. Ready for a mission with a wing man

I really am surprised how well 560 did on foam, and strong even after bouncing off walls and cabinets it held together.
But................I have no experience with these and it shows. I didn't bother to read the instructions. I had it in mode two and it should have been in mode one. My son came over this morning changed it to mode one and it acted just like a normal four channel R/C model. Throttle and adjustable, even has trim tabs. He taxied it around my workshop with no problems.
Some contrast to monkey me chasing it around trying to grab it before I finally just shut the transmitter off.
My son flys it in the field on my property, not a large area but big enough to fly this. I may try it.

Thanks Robert. But a big may on the field at least. I will probably take it off my driveway, make a hard left turn so it doesn't hit the pines and cut the throttle after a hundred feet or so. My coordination isn't what it once was.

Re: Parkzone T-28 Bind and crash
In case anyone is interested, here's a real one I saw last Sunday at a local airshow.
The day was 38º Celsius. The previous day to the airshow was a "Total Fire Ban" so it was uncertain whether the show would go ahead, but even though it was so hot the authorities didn't enforce it on the Sunday. This allowed them to use some pyrotechnics in the show (which actually started a grass fire alongside the runway).
The heat didn't put off the spectators. Still lots of folk came out for the show. It was a little windy so the lighter aircraft didn't go up. There were a number of "expected" aircraft that were unserviceable on the day, so it was a little disappointing in that only one RR Merlin made its presence felt, with a single P-51 flyover and demo. As one of the commentators said, "it's not an airshow without a Mustang". For whatever reason, another Mustang, a Spit and a P-40 didn't go up. We did get good value out of the Avenger and Corsair, plus a very quick couple of passes from a Sabre.
Sorry I didn't get many pictures.

Thanks for posting that T-28 picture Rod. It's amazing to see how close Parkzone got to detailing it like the original. Same for under wing too.
Looks like a Cosmic Wind/Caussett in the background. I love the F-86, perhaps the best of that's era's Fighters.

Check out the Super Decathlon doing "The Drunk Pilot" routine. Some amazing low level flying.
Bob, I'd suggest that aircraft in the background of the T-28 is probably an "Edge".

Them little rc planes are awesome. Got the J-3 Cub, Champ, and now a Spitfire. Always wanted the Trojan, but just never got one before they were discontinued. Oh, plus a NIB UMX Raiden.
