Nick and Nora arrive

Nick and Nora arrive
Or maybe it's Ike and Mike. Dunno.
With tears in her eyes the mail lady dropped off a signature required package (that long awaited stator from Indonesia) and said there were three kittens down by the community mailboxes thin and hungry that someone had dropped off. She said that she would take them home but that she had already rescued three this year and was wondering if I would go down and feed them this evening. I wasn't enthusiastic but said I might go down and take a look.
About an hour later she comes back, this time with a gallon of whole milk and two bags of cat food. I was had. She asked me again if I would feed them this evening and after a long talk about the evil of people abandoning animals I told her I would follow her back down and pick up two if she would take one.
Got there and there was a neighbor in the brush trying to flush them out. Turns out there were four, one with absolutely no tail at all which was the one he wanted. Turned out great. He took tailess and the mail lady took one and I got the other two.
Both are friendly, black and white more so, very affectionate. I think I found a buddy or maybe a buddyett.

Very cute little guys you got there. Hope you enjoy them and their company.

Kudos to a fellow Guardian Angel. Good job...it's amazing how relaxing it can be to look at photos of cats relaxing.

You got a couple of handsome looking kitty's there!! Happy to see they have found a home to call their own, and someone to belong to. We are owned by Oscar, short for Oscar Meyer, the Hotdogging Cat. He's been calling our house home for about 6 years now, especially now that he's learned to slide the screen door open to let himself in!

So Bob, what about the stator? You started out talking about it and then off we go on another cat thread. Others may well remember another discussion about cats.
Sorry, I don't share your warm fuzzy feelings. I'll stop now.

Looks like you have been adopted. Cats don't have owners, they have servants.

Your a hard hearted man Rod.
The stator arrived along with the cats. Probably less trouble and less expensive over time.
But somewhat disappointed. Took a month to get here and is not a direct replacement. I had to use parts from the old stator to make it work. Sent them a nasty gram.
Kittens will get shots and spayed and/or neutered at the proper time. Already made them a cat house, and they were in it when I fed them this morning. Fitting right in. They won't be house cats, Spike won't allow it. He has a problem with house guests. He's blind but still runs rabbits and squirrels out of the yard. For now I keep him away from the cats.
They stack 'em high here in WV. Followed this guy out this morning. Our road is snake curvy with hills and valleys. I was sure he was going to lose it. He finally let me pass.

Mike and Ike! For the love of all that's Holy, Ike and Mike! The Thin Man movies are my all time favorite series of films, and Myrna Loy and William Powell were perfect as the Charleses. Please, please, PLEASE don't make me think of cats when I think of Nick and Nora...

The Monchrome Mark
Ah ha, the knowledgeable Mark made the connection. I was wondering if anybody ever would. Myrna Loy, mine too. Love her. Never made a bad movie. One of my favorites "The Best Years of our Lives".

Re: Nick and Nora arrive
Nick and Nora update.....Actually Nick and Nick as they are both male.
Owners still have them and live next to Mark so he gets to see them occasionally. All grown up and looking good.
Spike, not so...........
The growth he has had on a back hip for years burst Friday. Vet lanced it last year and said it was not a problem. Turned out to be. Reminded me of Rusty's misadventure with a Radiologist. Rushed him to the local Vet who flushed it and prescribed antibiotics. Three days later he is doing well but faces surgery.

Thanks roddie. In a couple of weeks when the antibiotics have done their job. Vet wants to remove another mass on his side and do his teeth while he's under anesthesia. I should have pet health insurance. He's had kidney stones removed twice and is on a special diet.

Spike is all healed up and doing great. Blind as a bat but you would never know it.
Mark just sent me this Facebook picture his neighbor posted showing Nick and Nora (Nick and Nick we later found out).
Still good buddy's.
PS: One of the pictures above is "Nick" and another of the neighbors cats. This is the original pair.
