Obscure unused parts request
I am looking for a Left hand and Right hand mufflers for a Gilbert 07, or 11. I have both and neither of them have mufflers. Lots of people say these engines aren’t fit to fly much further than a “hurled Fox” but I do have a soft spot for them.
Ron, nudge, bump, wink, wink, do you still have that glow plug wrench for gilbert’s?

Re: Obscure unused parts request
It's amazing how many Gilberts you see for sale with either two left of two right mufflers fitted. Left and right are different to enable both pipes to stay parallel with the fuselage with the engine offset for counterclockwise flying. Some try to sell the mufflers claiming they fit either size engine. This is wrong- they are indeed different. There was also what resembles tongue mufflers fitted to the 7 when used on the "Wing Thing" as a pusher.
While yes, I do have mufflers, I don't have more than I have engines- you know what it's like. Now wrenches, I do have quite a few and will share if no-one else comes through.
I'm not sure why the Gilbert engines gained their unfortunately negative reputation. The closest engine to compare them to is probably the .099 Fox Rocket, being a side-port with a glow head. After running both the Foxes I have, I'd choose the Gilbert any day. They turn up really nice with the right size prob, start easy and are easy to handle.

Re: Obscure unused parts request
Considering them an oddity I picked up a few plus some parts from a fellow in Pennsylvania? who has been discussed here before. Seems he bought barrels of engines and parts from the manufacturer or a vendor.
Some I purchased were new, some well used and some partzers and a few pictured here. I don't recall running any. Never saw the tongue muffler Rod, thanks for sharing that picture.

Eric, I'd be curious to know what size prop you were using in that clip. Sounds to me like the engine is well over-loaded. I would expect it to turn up much higher. I've had both my 11s and 7s turn up some pretty good numbers, around the 14,000 mark. 7X3 on the 11 and 6X3 on the 7. Had a 7 spit the prop off one day and did a shaft run. Man, was that puppy motoring or what? By the pitch of the exhaust I'd suggest mid to high 20s. No damage done as it only ran for around 5 seconds.

THANKS! Close enough for girls we go with! Looks like two left side mufflers, but they’ll be a good start. Appreciate the link, very much.
