First r/c Flight today!!!!!!!!

First r/c Flight today!!!!!!!!
Today, I went out in the 98 * heat it felt hotter than that in the sun. I went to the R/C field today to do some fun flying. I met up with Greg a veteran r/c flyer who confronted me the instant I got out of my vehicle. He allowed me to unload my stuff and then he brought me over to the flight line. He linked up the buddy box and with some minor instructions we were off and into the air. Greg built a .40 size trainer from coroplast. Very cool and the Norvel .40 on the nose was on full song. What a great little plane. Nothing seriously fast, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. I just practiced turns on both ends of the runway and keeping the plane level. I can't thank the guys from the Northeast Philadelphia Remote Control Club enough. It really made for a good day. https://www.facebook.com/PhillyFliersCL/photos/pcb.2067540879982702/2067540846649372/?type=3&theater Greg in the sunglasses and I'm in the high vis

YEA! Three Hoots for you!
I always thought if I don’t meet up with a buddy with a trainer cord, I’d just fly like a CL going in circles, till I run out of fuel.

I'll admit it was a bit scary. I did pretty good though. I was making corrections one function at a time. I would bank with aileron and then apply up elevator. My instructor though wasn't exactly overwhelmed by that. He insisted that I use the the sticks in the manner they were designed so that the flight appearance wise would be smoother.

Sounds like your using 4 ch. Hea the turns can bee tricky when done right . I found that 2 channel can bee a lot of fun and help get use to being in the air without a string hooked to it LOL But learning maneuvers are limited so more for FUN plus you don't sweat as much . Heck you're doing it !

I want to build the Comet Taylorcraft for r/c. It's pretty much a stick and tissue model and I think it would be really cool with a electric motor. My skills lack to fly such a plane. I could build it and let the others fly it as that would give me equal satisfaction. I just think orange and white tissue would look quite cool.
