First engine run of the year and first injury.
First engine run of the year and first injury.
72 degrees in West Virginia and I'm wondering why I'm in the house.
Took the engine off the silver flaps plane, dug out my test stands from the loft and hit it. Sorta.
Flipity, flippy, flip. Nothing, nada. Fuel ok, 35% Cox, oh oh. Amps ok, 3 1/2 turns out ok. Check head bolts. A little loose, 1/8th turn on all four. Flip and off we go. Got a little close to the prop with the palm of my hand, not trying hard enough, barely broke the skin.
Last years left-overs. Wondered where those engines went.
Enya's. Ya gotta love 'em.
Little ouch.
JIS can't live without them.
Flushed out with Remoil, compressed air blow-out. Ready for the Silver plane.
Old hang in there with me Spike enjoying life in the slow lane.

Besides the little injury (glad it was minor and not bad), it looks like yourself and Spike had a good day overall. Nice to see. I can't wait till I can get out and run some engines already.

If you are stripping gears on the GTP check to make sure the bushing in the clutch housing isn’t wore out.
