Cox Engine of The Month
Big Brother

Big Brother
Paint - Humid, threat of rain. Don't care, I'm going to finish this thing.
Like a friendly dog wanting it's belly scratched.
I don't exactly dress for success!
Heavy steel tether base. Cox Mercedes clip, hook-up wire, not string that will stretch and snap back when launched.
This thing is built like an Abrams tank, except for the pontoons risk of being ripped off. I added another set of struts, but I don't know. I think it will over time wear a lot of different colors, I like Corsair blue and yellow pontoons.

I say go for it. If I recall correctly, without digging up the original thread, was Corsair blue not your original thoughts of color? If that is correct, I think that it would be the color it wants to be! Just my two cents.

You have great recall Chancey. I have a can of Krylon dark blue and a saved can of Top Flights fuel proof Corsair blue. After I have my fun with it, I will strip the decals, sand it and paint it one of those.
Meanwhile, the silver paint did flash in the warm humid air, but I like it better. Looks more like unfinished aluminum.
Trials - Still have to attach the engine mounts, decals, wheels, tether, and cut the struts to length and epoxy. Can't make up my mind, Golden Bees or Black Widows..
Going to name 0.20 Miss Personality and 0.49 Missed Personality. Now if I can get Levent to script me up some decals.
Forgot. Final insult. I'll add some "N" struts to the wing tips and string guide wires like I did on my old Nieuport 28.

By the choices given, I just had a chuckle to myself thinnking instead of saying Golden Bees or Black Widows, I was thinking to myself referring to them as 'On The Ground (GB) or In The Air (BW)'.

Re: Big Brother
"Air BW" Chancey.
Finished Big Brother. Golden Bees vs. Black Widows. Going with tested and proven Golden Bees.
Perspective. I like Bipes!
I knew that the CG was going to be a challenge, important for locating the tethers apex. I don't want it tail heavy which increases the chances for it to get airborne. Don't want that! Tried several different things from lead pistol rounds to sockets. Finally decided on 5/16" by 2" bolts which when including the bottom wing into the equation brings the CG to about right.
Best place for them is in the nose of the pontoons. So with poor eyesight and shaky hands I drilled a couple of holes. Got lucky with the pilot hitting the pontoons dead center. Started with a 1/8" pilot, then 1/4" then 5/16".

They do look really sharp. Great job on them, and hope they treat you good for their first runs or flights, whatever they may be!
