Re: OS Max 10 FP remote needle
That needle valve setup has been used for years by OS. The needle you have pictured is the OS 1A needle valve assembly. I have about a dozen brackets as shown. In addition, the later model FP.35's-40's came equipped with the same setup and were listed as the FP-S versions just like the LA.25-.46 S versions. The LA series used different needle valve assemblies and a slightly different bracket. The early version LA used the same bracket which morphed into a metal bracket which was later a part of the plastic backplate. One needle valve assembly that's UNOBTAINABLE is the FP.10 control line needle. It's a excellent quality needle and it was made specifically for the FP.10 as no other models used that particular needle. I'm fortunate to own 3 of them.

Re: OS Max 10 FP remote needle
Hi getback,
I have busted allot of rc OS needle valves.
The nipple that goes in the carb is hard to get.
Same needle valve works from .10-.40 or beyond.
Never seen a .10 with remote needle setup like that, and a later muffler.
Nice score.
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave
( I ran the guts out of older OS.25s to try and beat later FXs. The Magnum brand parts work.)

Re: OS Max 10 FP remote needle
Hi Eric, I've posted this photo of my .10FP/RC before, but here it is again. Note the same part# that Greg referenced earlier in the thread.
I bought the engine and the remote needle kit from Tower, over 20 years ago. All is still new in the box.. including two RC kits sized for it; an Ace "All Star" bipe.. and a Herr "Lil' Extra" ARF.

Re: OS Max 10 FP remote needle
The needle valve assembly on the remote looks like it could be the same as the carb mounted one. The difference may just be an extra nut to hold it on to the sheet metal bracket, and an additional nipple on the carb. It could be fairly easily made up with the right tap and die. The smaller .10 may be a different thread than the other bigger engines.
