Love those prop rods Bob, A very iconic Cox product…. I got the green Shrike for Christmas one year….Never did tether it, Just ran free…. Usually for not long because it tracked in a wide arc and wouldn’t stay in the middle of the street …. Funny looking back on the things kids got to play with compared to today…. They all seem skeered now LOL!!!

Good for you on your industrious-ness….Keeps you fit!!! …. I like to stay busy too….My project today….. My esposa farms me out sometimes to the local school district and I am happy to oblige…. Set of stairs for the theater dept…..

Thanks guys.  I was hoping that this post would spawn something similiar.

I was searching for a picture of a flower that I could share with Robert that only blooms in May.  Hence 5/11.  Easy to find in my One-Drive as it sorts by date. But I couldn't find it.

As it is today, yet to bloom.  Beautiful flowers from a tuber that the previous owner of this property planted.

Kindred spirits Robert.  I built these stairs replacing pull-downs that lead to the loft above the garage.  Even used the excess carpet left over from carpeting the loft. Built a door at the top with a fold-down flap that kept old blind Spike the dog from falling through when I brought him up there with me.  Carpeted that too.

Todays project.  Mailman just delivered carpet to finish the RX-7's hatch area.

I had to paint the badly faded plastic pieces.  Poor color match but better than it was.  My typical trying to make something out of nothing.

Edit: Finally found that picture. Left one, picked the rest. 2021-06-17 I cannot remember the name of that flower. Sad

Love those “tars” on Big Red Very Happy …. I’m sure they really are functional and help prevent landing flip overs…. I had some oversized Trexler’s on a Schoolmaster that helped alot with rough field landing…. That, And it’s bungee (rubber banded on Very Happy ) landing gear….

The flower and plant is very pretty Bob…. Carnation maybe?…. …. RX-7 is coming along nicely….. I think Datsun must have used the same dye, Kind of a burgundy…. My Z was nearly the same…. Your stairs came out very good and have a nice finish…. Mine are just 2x12 …. Kind of a steep pitch but I’m sure will be fine for high school kids…

Peony's Robert.  I had to go to the internet to remember.  Beautiful but only last a week or two then they are done for the year.

Disappointed in that paint, and Krylon my favorite brand.  Didn't cover very well, maybe I should have primed first.

Back drape little more than pieces but provides a patten.  Hot sun through that large glass hatch is brutal.

I believe that flower is a carnation, a baby pink one:

Peony's George, Shirley Temples to be exact. Either that or I'm firing my authoritative daughters.

My grandmother used to have them planted along side of the house. I was always fascinated by them due to the ants. I know the blooms can be sticky and I suppose this is what attracts the ants. Once bloomed though I would see very little ant activity.

Same here Ken. The ants love the sticky stuff.  They crawl all over the blossoms.  Years ago I picked these for my wife

Kept them, can't seem to throw them away.

Edit:  Got to thinking, what happened to that Prop Rod I pictured above.  Did I graft a blue pod on to it......Nope fixed the existing pod. The folded piece was lead.
