Blue backplate postage stamp engine
I've heard of these, but never saw one before. Spotted this one while cruising the aisles at a local swap meet. I'm not a collector, but it was priced the same as any other Cox .049, so I grabbed it.
Judging by the prop and spinner, it must have been on a Miss America P-51. It has a stepped wall dual port cylinder that is stamped with a 1 below the exhaust port.

Re: Blue backplate postage stamp engine
Nice find! I got one some time back that I spotted in a lot of engines and parts on eBay.
Re: Blue backplate postage stamp engine
Nice, you scored good, @duaneh .
Does this have the cylinder dual bypass ports? Then you have the desired Black Widow power.
But, even if it doesn't, it is still a prized rarity, nothing wrong with a tad more power than a standard Babe Bee, (I gather by the freer flowing venturi and 128 TPI needle), congrats!

Yes, dual bypass and SPI. It should be a strong runner. Will have to put it in a plane and try it out. I'm pretty sure I have one of the Goldberg firewall mounts for a postage stamp engine around here somewhere, but can't put my hands on it right now.
