Reasonable RPM for a Pee Wee .020 ?

Reasonable RPM for a Pee Wee .020 ?
You guys think think that mid-to-upper 13's is a good speed for a Pee Wee .020? I'm trying to get more of my Plastic Air Force flying, and this is the engine for my Mini Stunt.
Fuel is Sig 35%, regular head, and the prop is the stock little round-tip that comes with the plane. The good news is that it's needle setting is pretty consistent, and it starts easily too.
It SOUNDS like it's it's running a lot faster than what my tach is showing, and it will probably pill the little biplane around at a pretty good clip as-is. I just thought it ought to average a little higher.
Thanks !

I can't find an .020 test report, but this dude's engine runs at 20K when he changes props half way through the video.
I love that little green plane. I hope you'll video a flight sometime.

Kim,
According to Peter Chinn you should be turning around 17K on that prop. There is a good read about the Pee Wee on the Aerotools site.

I THOUGHT as much...thanks Ron ! May check the cylinder for varnish, and try another glowhead. 17k would be great !

ABOUT 1 min 22 sec on the higher pitch. ABOUT 1 min 10 sec on the less pitch,,as a general average and all things considered. Not a bad run at all.

Re: Reasonable RPM for a Pee Wee .020 ?
I just watched the video Rusty posted. I thought the 3 blade prop was more of a load. Guess not.

Maybe at the RPMs we run, compared to full sized planes, our 3 blade props cavitate. That could be where the load disappears if it's spinning in a partial hole in the air.cribbs74 wrote:I just watched the video Rusty posted. I thought the 3 blade prop was more of a load. Guess not.

The cox three bladed prop for the peewee has a smaller diameter, compared to the two-bladed, which more than compensates for the third blade. No magic in that.
My best rpm readings are on pair with nono fulton. One problem I've had is that the tank heats up and it needs fiddling with the needle to empty each tank...
On diesel it just runs through each tank on the same needle setting.
