What are the top 10 Rarest Cox Engines?

What are the top 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
What are the top ten RAREST Cox engines ever produced, I guess we will include the .15 Rotary Drum ( Prototype)? I mentioned aa all silver .09 Medallion R/C the other day...someone chimned in a said they had a production run of only 2000 units, yet when I look up the engine there is no mention of it's rarity in any Cox documentation. I bet this Top 10 list will vary from person to person... Curious!

Re: What are the top 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
1. NFFS .051 Medallion - 168 made
2. Venom - 1,000 made
3. TD .050 R/C - 2,000 made
4. TD .09 RC?
Not sure where the .15 Olympic rotary drum would fit in.

I know this is really, really subjective, but if you say rarest, you'd have to figure basicly impossible to find or locate, based on actual production and surviving engines. My problem with the NFFS .051 Medallion & Venom is that although very few were made, you can still find one to purchase fairly easy...if you got da money. Who has a blue Strato or first version RR-1 for sale?

RE:What are the 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
I have a couple of Cox engines that might move the rare meter.
The first is an early TD.049 with a brass cylinder. It is not colored or anodized, but, has the reddish brass color, and it is not magnetic either. There is a large #1 stamped on the side of the cylinder.
The second is a Pee Wee .020 Sure Start with a white Delrin back plate and an orange choke tube. There is a #2 etched in the side of the back plate.
In both cases I'm guessing the numbers are factory work numbers for experimental engine pieces.
Maybe Mud Hen can shed some light on my engines.
I'll try to get some pics shortly for all to enjoy......

Re: What are the top 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
Well, there we have it. The top 10 rarest Cox Engines! Thanks Mud!
RE:What are the 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
I have more than my share of BW#1 and TD#4 cylinders and I know how they are marked at the factory. The brass cylinder has the #1 stamped at the base of the cylinder and it has two bypasses and two machined flutes on each bypass just like a normal #4 piece.
I should also mention the NIB Cox Tissan/Haifa .049 Banana engine I have with the Funky black prop spinner and the factory sealed tool, mounting screws, and sand brush kit. It has never been removed from the display card in a Yellow and Orange box. The box is different from what Jacob shows in his display card section. Bernie may be able to find out from his contacts at Tissan Haifa in Israel how many of the early Banana engines made it to the USA.
How about High Compression 5 fin Texaco heads complete with the knurled ring on top and the 1702 combustion chamber? I got those from Dan Sitter years ago and I've not seen any others since.
I'm learning my new digital camera and how to post pics here so bare with me and you'll see what I'm talking about............Steve

Re: What are the top 10 Rarest Cox Engines?
I have a number 4 cylinder that is not stamped. It is tapered, 2 transfer ports, 2 boost flutes per cylinder and thin walled. Currently resides on my silver/blue RR-1.
Seems to be a lot of different variations on the early stuff.
