That's great! Replace the glow head with a 1702 head and maybe drop a killer crank in it and see what you get. Anyway, that is great what you are getting the way it is!

I'd say with that you'll be well into tee dee range.Admin wrote:That's great! Replace the glow head with a 1702 head and maybe drop a killer crank in it and see what you get. Anyway, that is great what you are getting the way it is!
But maybe add some castor because you don't want to mess up the ball of that piston as it will be irreplaceable.

Cool any chance of a video cause I'd love to see the .051 in action.

Will do if I don't lose my daylight. I'll have to load it later, using the airport's WiFi...got dial-up here...so it'd take a month or so!

You keep saying the airport. You got a plane? Pietnpol?
Re: Bench running my "Tee Dee Black Widow" !!! ---and others---
Got the Tee Dee .15 going. Not sure what RPM is considered good for these, but it started easily (after I replaced the glowhead and plugged the crankcase pressure fitting). Anybody selling machined Tee Dee .15 crank bodies? Wasn't sure about the fuel either, so I mixed some 1/2A 50/50 with some 10%X20%.
Tached it with a slight 4-cycle break, and got speeds hovering around 15000 on a Master Airscrew 8-4.

That's a good job for a plane nut.
Oh the pietnpol thing you just seem like the type, passionate yet real.

Yeah, as I posted when I first arrived here, I am one lucky fellow. Got a good boss and crew to work with.
The Piet is extremely basic, and is incredibly fun to fly. I get accused of licensing and flying around in a big model airplane!

I always had a soft spot for them they remind me of the blunderbus .010 that Kim made and also they are very homemade an that's why they appeal to me
Did you build it?

They are wonderful little planes. I started a thread over in "Off Topic" with some history and photos.
A Cox/Sanwa "Q-Tee", finished in a "Piet" scheme, along with a little massaging of it's general outline, would come very close to being a Stand-Off-Scale Piet.

I do stiff like that with high wing planes I always try and make them a little bit more like a piper cub or stik.
