Oh yes, I although thought about how the reputation grows.

It is up to the members, if you write a good comment they will honor it to you by reputation points. I think it is the same like the Likes on Facebook (I am not there Very Happy )

Reputation is what it is. If you are someone who always post nonsense posts, is rude or has screwed up more than once during For Sale/Wanted transactions (and didn't get banned for it), you can expect negative rep. In that case, you could maybe think twice before dealing with or second guess info given by personally unknown people with negative rep. Sometimes those "+" and "-" buttons will be accidentally hit giving someone a undeserved negative, its no big deal as long as you say "oops".
