Busted Hot Rock. Any ideas?

Busted Hot Rock. Any ideas?
Broke this a couple weeks back. Ticked me off good. I have a couple others, but would like to salvage this one.
My concern is securing the tab while still being able to make adjustments.

Ron, this has happened to many of us. I don't have the details, but I can certainly try and get them to you. I put my old Hot Rock handles on the shelves and use the current Reyco which has the same spacing but made of wood. It can be repaired though. Ken

You could try some Testors plastic cement, but I'd be concerned about oil seeping into repair and have it come unglued while a planes in flight, maybe hang it up in the shop and get a modern handle?

Maybe a new one is the answer, I just like these things. They feel so good in my hand.

I have 2 others. I am a man of 3's! One for now, a spare and one for the future. I will give repairing it a shot if it doesn't work I'll break down and buy a new one. Or make one like you suggested.

Ron, would a zip-tie work; slipped under the cable to hold the plate in it's slot? They're pretty thin.. and may not be too obtrusive.. as long as the cable will not slip?? Just find the most comfortable spot for the latch... maybe on the left side (assuming you're right-handed...) where it would be between your fingers? It's worth a shot... and you can always snip it off and try another position if it doesn't feel right.
Re: Busted Hot Rock. Any ideas?
Great minds must think alike Roddie. I considered the same thing. I was concerned about the tang as well. I suppose if it's uncomfortable I can cut it off. I may try epoxy and just glue that metal tab in place. I still have the plastic pieces that broke off that I can glue over top.
