Differtent PT-19, P-40, and a Skyraider......
See what you people did......ya got me hooked on this stuff.
Looking on ebay for nothing in particular I came across this mess, and with no bidders and feeling sorry for the seller I bought it. Good thing I did, it came with a set of Cox wheels identical to the ones that I needed for my A1 Skyraider which by coincidence arrived the same day.
The ebay ad was for a "P-40". It came with PT 19 instructions so I started at the Cox Model Data base and after some searching ID'd it as a PT-19 Trainer #6300 with a Cox # 21924 engine which must be of the "postage Stamp" variety? It came with two engines neither one correct.
I was going to slip the good wheels off the hubs but that proved difficult. So I just pinched the crimp in a vise, slipped off the wheels and put them on the good Skyraider struts then restaked the crimps. Worked fine.
I'm not sure that I have all the parts that I need to mount an engine on the PT-19. I do have the proper engine, but it seems like I still need the part that it mounts on???

Nice, I'm trying to get my hands on a later model PT19 to fly (Brings back memories) and am finding that pretty tough so far. The skyraider looks great man (Bandit) and BTW....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

Nice haul. I've tried gluing cracked PT-19 wings with zero success. But before the fly-it day, I tried fiber packing tape and sealed it all over and around with clear fingernail polish and it seems to be doing the job, if not slightly ugly. But it flies. I'll rummage around and see if I can find you a motor mount for it. It'll be the Babe Bee type and it has a crack in it, but you might be able to get some life out of it.

Thanks Rusty, but I found it.
Dumb me, it was right there all the time. I looked at one of the above pictures afterI posted it and thought, that must be it. A relief.

Me too Craig.
That's a major crack on the wing, about 1 1/2" long. Plastic glue won't hold it alone so I have some sheet plastic that I will pop rivet over it using aluminum rivets. It's not going to be a thing of beauty and all I want is a couple of flights out of it. I don't think I have ever flown a plastic airplane.
What is that plastic cap in the first picture under the battery for? It looks like a cap for a ball point pen.

That was really a nice find, those wheels are not real common! I happen to have several Skyraider (yellow) landing gear, all new in box...only the foam tires are all hard and shriveled up from age.
I found a needed Spitfire canopy that way, looking for cheap parts

Yes, It was $26 and change for all that stuff. Naturally the battery is gone but there is half a can of fuel in that Cox can. I don't know if it's any good though. It did wind up with five bids.
So that's what those struts are for as shown in your picture. I used the PT-19's wheels for the greater good of the Skyraider as they were identical, but I have others I can use on the 19. Funny, those wheels are perfect, while the Skyraiders wheels were just dust.
The second engine turns freely and is complete.

I loves deals like that! Those wheels/landing gear/struts are from a p-40 and likely the spinner, although other models used that same yellow spinner.
Re: Differtent PT-19, P-40, and a Skyraider......
There's some Testors stuff in there as well so I think the yellow spinner might be a Testors P-51. I have one just like it. Noticed the Testors wrench and fuel can.

Another deal...??? $21.65 for not two, but five engines. Picture was deceiving, you had to read the text. I especially like the thumb ring, seller must be stylish. I. bought them because of the fly wheel on one of the engines. Something out of the ordinary always interests me.

The wing on the PT-19 is going to need some work. Several cracks and way to much dihedral will have to be dealt with. I will have to lay and glue some stiff plastic sheet over the worse crack and pop rivet it. Thinner sheets over the lesser cracks.
Those butter cup covers accepted the glue well and formed to the contour of the wing. It's already quite strong and I may not have to use pop rivets after all. The cracks around the rubber band pegs are more of a problem. You can't reenforce that area so I just forced gule into the cracks, weighted it down and will hope for the best.

Back together.
The peg that holds the rubber band in place on the tail section is broken and the tail skid is missing so I still have to fix those issues. But, the re-enforced plastic glue wing repairs worked fine so no pop rivets will be needed.
I was surprised when I disassembled the engine that there was no cut on the cylinder for the Cox wrench to remove it from the crank case. Found out why here. Ouch, must be an early engine but the plane was sold in the mid eighties.
Now to fix those issues, apply a coat of wax just to make it feel good and get it in the air.
Might be a little too much prop (6/4) but I have some 5/3's that I could use.

P19 looks good bob considering how it was a few days ago. That diagram of the pliers on the instructions makes me cring grabbing the piston cylinder!

You ain't kiddin' it still suprizes me that they would make a cylinder with no provisions to remove them. I have once such cylinder on one of my Babe Bee's that belonged to my dad a while back. (Bandit)
