Re: Testors/Gilbert
Well they put plenty into their own American Flyer RTFs, but in a Testors? The pictures don't actually show it bolted in, so I suspect it was someone's project they never completed.

Re: Testors/Gilbert
Even though there's no evidence of how the engine can be mounted, it almost looks like it has been run in the fuselage because if you enlarge all the pictures you can see the melted plastic from inside the cowl cheeks stuck on the exhausts.
I would think that the 11 would be way too heavy, but it would sure get it moving better than the original .049.

testors engine p 51 mustang
Hello everyone
I have a Mustang P-51 Metallic Testors, but the engine are broken. The crankshaft is broken where the propeller. so that my question is whether it can be repaired is placed and if I can still find parts of that engine

Test or engines
Joe - here is a link to a thread on what I believe you have as an engine. Commonly known as the "pipe bomb". You might find parts on e bay, if you watch long enough you'll find a complete engine or two for reasonable prices.

Read the above thread and let us know if that's what you're dealing with.
Here's a linc to one for sake:

Re: Testors/Gilbert
To my thinking, the several "Pipe Bomb" (I hate using that term but it's what everyone understands) engines that are currently on ebay are a little high priced. They can be had for a lot less. I have a few spare parts but I'm in Australia, so postage for a 50c crankshaft would be "uncomfortably" high. I have several spare crankshafts out of front rotary valve Testors/McCoys which I think might fit in the Pipe Bomb case.
I would suggest that you look up 049 Collectors Yahoo group. You may have to join up to access the information, but they have a really good archive of pictures and information.
Rod.
