COX RR1 operation instruction sheet
Got a relatively new COX RR1 but do not have its Op Instruction..I would like to see the parts list. Could anyone pm me one or lead to a site where it is downloadable? The Cox International site offers this but the link takes you to a QRC Bee description.
Thank you.
Thank you.

RR-1 assembly question
I have a question on the rotary valve/ tank. When reassembling does the opening on the tank face upwards toward the cylinder, or downwards toward the bottom of the tank? I know the instructions say the tank has to be moved with the cylinder, so it must be important, but it fits both ways!

Re: COX RR1 operation instruction sheet
I am still waiting for this engine from the ebayer, but guess the openings on the tank and the rotary valve should overlap when the piston is moving upwards and draws the air-fuel mixture in.
Anyone has any experience with the longevity of the valve drive stud in the crank pin hole, and the bore it fits is on the rotary valve? I assume this may have been one of the problem spots of the engine leading to its discontinued production in 1965...

Re: COX RR1 operation instruction sheet
On the one RR-1 I have that had the broken crank it broke where the front spline for the drive hub is. Most likely caused by a crash. The crank pin was not the weak point. Now if you put the RR-1 engine in a NMMTPA competition then the crank pin might be the weak point due to the high nitro and revs involved.

Hm... wonder how that happened lol. Fixed now and thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Re: COX RR1 operation instruction sheet
Thank-you Mud, I appreciate your response. I'll double check and make sure I've positioned it properly. If I remember correctly, I did do it that way, because the fuel pick up tube wouldn't fit between the vent tubes.Mudhen wrote:Cox had two RR-1 types, (but several variants,) in which the valve opening on the tank may face up, or down. When looking at the engine from above, with the tank back facing you; the filler tubes should always be on the left side. In that way, regardless of the vintage, the port will be positioned correctly.
