Cox Engine of The Month
But Wait! There's MORE!

But Wait! There's MORE!
My wife went over to her friends' house yesterday. The ones tearing down their existing house and rebuilding. The one with the husband who gave me a few old plane kits and engines last year, and then some other engines/supplies last month. Well, she came home with more stuff for me!
The product engine is in really bad shape. The husband was one of those kids who thought that since Cox engines were so cheap, they didn't need to be taken care of. But, the McCoy Red Head .35 is in surprisingly clean shape, other than being gunked up inside and missing the thrust washer and nut. I think this was the engine he might have had on his Shoestring. Luckily, I have a Redhead .19 that I got for $5.00 from the local hobby shop, and the thrust washer is the same size. I'll get it un-seized and see how well it runs. Probably put it back in the Shoestring when I get around to rebuilding it.

Another nice score. At least you are getting the engines. It almost scares me to think how many get tossed annually while some are cleaning out an older house, or doing renovations.
