Computer Help...Please...

Post  Mudhen on Sat Jan 12, 2019 8:18 pm

Do we have computer geeks in this forum?
I recently ran into an issue that I can’t solve.
If you look at the pic, you will see a slight drop shadow beside the text.
I have finished nearly 100 pictures with reference lettering and, until today, the shadow was not present.
It showed up all on its own. Worse still, when I select the text tool button to begin typing, the shadow also shows up in the text bar.
Again, this wasn’t happening before today.
Does anyone know how to solve this?

Need to know which version of windows you are using and what program you are using for specific directions. For general Windows text shadowing try this:

Hi Jason,
Win 7 Home Premium.
I use Paint Shop Pro for my graphics program, but I also edit in Microsoft Paint.
I saw the link you posted when I was researching earlier. But it didn't help.
I'm really stumped. I've never seen this one before.
If I have a picture loaded into paint, (or PSP,) and I want to add text to the photo, that's when the shadow appears.
I click on the pic to begin writing and there it is. After I save the pic, the shadow remains.
It's as if I activated something in word that causes a shadow to appear, but I can't figure out what.

Thank You, Levent, but it didn't work.
I use PSP for complex graphics and MS Paint for basic text.
The version of paint I use is old and does not have the "Text Effects" option.

In PSP under effects/3D effects there is a drop shadow feature. Is this the effect you see?

Here's another pic.
The grey background is the picture to which I want to add text.
I click the place where I want the text added.
The text box opens with a flashing curser.
When I type a letter in the text box, that's when the shadow appears. It's not yet merged with the picture.
The shadow just appears in the text box while I'm typing.
If I merge it to the picture, then it also shows up on the pic.
It's very frustrating.
Thank you for the vid, but it's not a drop shadow 3-d effect. The smudge appears even before I can select any effects.
I forgot to mention.
Even before I type the text, while the curser is flashing, a smudge appears and disappears in sync with the curser.

Not sure what you're seeing. I see no smudge or shadow in your two examples. Anyway, I'm running Mac so I'm no help.

It sounds like you may simply have a problem with your screen?

If old images and even the cursor itself suddenly gets a shadow, that is the only logical explanation...?

Print text and a text written photo on a plain paper. Is it shows?
