While losing someone like Jack (or anyone) is sad, it looks like he achieve a lot in his 98 years. What we Aussies call a "good innings".

Comfort to his family & friends.

Rod.
(Wen Mac fan).

There are several obituaries online and in print.  Someone in the family went all out to spread the word.  But very little is said about Wen-Mac.  His page at Dignity Memorial includes a 40 minute memorial video with only one photo of Mr. McCroskey next to an .049 size Wen Mac flying platform and a rather large “Pogo”.  It would seem that the McCroskey family were more into large group photos and golf, than model airplanes and modeling in general.  I would surmise that it was really more of just a money making venture to the McCroskey brothers than a passion as it was for Leroy Cox.
