Crosman 760 air-rifle repair
Re: Crosman 760 air-rifle repair
I have a old 760. Mine has wood for stock and pump lever. I was shooting cans hanging from the trees on the back deck. So I took a shot at a can and it ricocheted off the can and hit my sister in the leg. Remember Sylvester getting punched by the bulldog? That was pretty much how it went down when my old man found out. Yep, never did that again. We had darts for the gun and we had a dart board in the basement. That was pretty cool actually. That was a remarkable air rifle.

Re: Crosman 760 air-rifle repair
Thanks Roddie! Your comments and link to the video sent me on a Deep Dive in the basement "Man Cave". I found I have 3 different 760 series pump air guns. Two of them pump up and shoot nicely, the oldest one (1975) does have the "no pressure when pumping" problem. With all the news of the Mass Shootings at the schools my wife was quite startled to see me with these guns all over my desk......"what are you gonna do with all those?? she asked innocently! I haven't seen you take those guns out....ever." I laughed, yeah, it's been a few years. These only shoot one BB or pellet at a time, so don't be too worried. Anyway, the older one is a "Self-cocking" model that cocks as you pump it up, so it won't even fire. It's much heavier than the other two being all wood and metal VS the newer ones Plastic stocks and side pieces. SO,I spent a couple of hours disassembling, inspecting, cleaning and searching on my hands and knees looking for that one little spring that holds the BB feed door closed. Found it on the floor, twice! Reassembled and returned it to the gun cabinet. Turns out I've accumulated a small arsenal of Air Soft and Air powered pistols and guns. Was tons of fun with the kids blasting holes in paper targets in the backyard when they were younger, years ago. I am still pretty good with my Wrist Rocket sling shot, just pull, aim and release. No pumping and really inexpensive ammunition, marbles or old ball bearings. What fun!

i think if more kids HAD BB guns growing up?
and were taught the rules and consequences?
there might be less of the gunplay shenanigans in schools and other places.
