Breaking NEWS My friends
Several have requested a video of th eStreaker flying. Since I was unable to post a video on our Cox forum I thought I would try it on another RC group and was sucessful I don't profess to be much of a video photographer but I did my best and hope you can watch it. I let another club member fly the Streaker for the first time and he was a little nervous but at least we got a little for you to enjoy. To view the video go to : (20+) Radio Control Pattern Planes of all Eras. Click on Discussion and scroll down until you see the Streaker, the video is next to it. It's pretty fast so hang on!

Nice video, Dick, one can hear it was rather windy there, right?
How do you protect the engine cowl area from the hot exhaust gases, do hou gave an exhaust deflector, or muffler, on the engine?

New Streaker in work
It has not beem a problem. When I finished the cowling installation I just brushed a bunch of CA (Super Gllue all over the inside of the cowling and then sprayed some red Paint ( Americas Best" in the inside. I used Americas Best Red which was almost a perfect match for the Carmine Red covering film I used.balogh wrote:Nice video, Dick, one can hear it was rather windy there, right?

Re: Breaking NEWS My friends
Thanks Brad. What prop size would you recommend for my tuned pipe on the Streaker? Holding the plane in my hands anything less than 5" seems underpropping it. I tried a 5x2 APC too on the bench with 9.6" MRP distance and this seems short, need to slip the pipe out longer from the silicone extender. The formula we use does not exactly work out, maybe because the speed of sound is less in winter colder exhaust gas..v=SQRT(kappa×Rx T) where T is gas temp in Kelvin..but 30 degree lower temperature means only 3% less speed of sound.. ![Huh...](/users/3015/29/34/60/smiles/3929217648.gif)

That is cool. I had estimated it at 20,000 with a 5 X 3. Right now I use a 5.5 X 4.5 and feel it is easier to fly and still get 6 minutes flight on 1 ounch of 15%. I haven't gone to the balloon yet but did change the tank to a 2 ounce which provided a longer and better pick up tube. The one ounce tube was to short to flop around inside the tank. My first flight yesterday was with a near topped off tank and after 13 minutes I was ready to land. I kept wondering if it was ever going to quit running so I could land. I have decided I have decided I am more a 6 minute flyer right now
