Cox Stuka Parts
Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum and haven't flown a plane in probably 45 years. I turn 60 in a month and I guess the nostalgia bug is hitting me.
Back in the day I had the following aircraft:
JU 87D Black Knight
Corsair
P-51
Fokker DR VII
P40 Warhawk
Zero
I only successfully flew the DR VII. The Corsair took off and after one time around took a nose dive into the ground and literally exploded into parts. The others I never really tried. I didn't have a father and was in a family of girls, so there wasn't much help around.
In any case, I've bought myself a flyable Stuka, but I also picked up a project one to try and get back in flying order. Obviously parts are tough to come by. I wish more people with 3D printers would make this stuff!!
For my project plane, I'm looking for the following:
Prop Spinner
Tail Wheel
Radiator grill
Fuel tank - I know this is going to be a booger. My model is from around 1974 when the Black Knight first came out.
Rudder - It is broken and I 'might' be able to use epoxy resin to get it to hold together, but a replacement would be better.
Bellcrank wire - I could probably make one, but obviously not as good as an original
Bomb - nice to have
Propeller - I believe the one I have is serviceable. I'll need to sand down the tips a little because they got roughed up, but again, a clean one would be better
I know it sounds like a lot. Obviously the only things I really need to get it going are a fuel tank and probably the rudder.
I'm willing to pay what the fair market value is for all of these things. I'm watching EBay for parts birds, and I missed out on a couple last week.
I can't wait to fly one of these again, but I'll only go with a half-tank of fuel because I'm probably going to pass out from being dizzy. lol
Thank you!

Re: Cox Stuka Parts

Can't help you on the Stuka, but others here probably can, as some have quite an avid interest in restoring these historic Cox ready-to-flies.
Again, welcome!

What Crankbndr said. Plus get to know Matt EX engines, and Bernie Cox International, ads here on this page. Order direct from them here not on ebay then they do not have to pay fees.
Wish I could help on your Stuka parts, I think i may have an elevator, but it's probably broken in some way. At least you must have the canopies, they are the first to go missing along with the pilot/gunner.

Ya, I keep those folks in business, they have been a life saver for the type of parts I need. But $45!!!!!! No matter I'm getting one.

Look often on Markletplaceand Kijiji
Since 2 years I bought 3 Stuka mostly in good shape for an average of $100 each

Thank you everyone who responded.
I've been watching EBay. I let a couple of inexpensive Stukas get by last week and I'm kicking myself.
I do have the crew for one aircraft, and all but the pilot canopy on one of them.
I'm in no rush really, I'll just bide my time and pick things up when I come across them.
Thank you for the links too. I'll check them out!

You're learning the lay of the land. There will be more opportunities, perhaps even more choice and to your liking with a little patience.
