Purchased a Airtronics Monarch 05 and got a surprise when it arrived!

Purchased a Airtronics Monarch 05 and got a surprise when it arrived!
I purchased this Airtronics Monarch 05 kit off of R/C Groups because I had one years ago.
Purchased it April 29th and received today May 6th (2022)
I had on my first Monarch 05 a Cox .049 Golden bee on the front (Love those Golden Bees!)
Radio, I used in it was a EK Logictrol (LRB) Brick system.
I wanted to build another now because years ago I sold my original Monarch to a new club member (and son) the plane so that they could start flying.
I was a great trainer plane.
Anyway, I purchased the Monarch 05 from R/C Group for $75.00 (plus shipping --- $41.00)
The photo of the kit on the website looked good!
When I received it today, this is what I got!
I received in the box a broken french curve, a broken plastic ruler. some wire cut-offs, scrap balsa (maybe from the original plane?) , a razor blade, 2inch by 4 inch piece of 220 sand paper, a Bobcat instruction book (Bob Martin R/C Models) and a Anabat Combat instruction manual.
All of this good "stuff" for $116.00
I have sent an email to the seller and how disapprove of what I paid for.
no reponse
Filled out a complaint information to Paypal with description of problem and photos.
If nothing gets resolved by either the seller (refund) or Paypal I'll go to my credit card company and have them get the $116.00 money back.

You did not receive what you ordered, that's for certain! There is a big difference between the posted image and what you received. IF the seller does not refund your money, pay-pal will...as long as you didn't use "Friends and Family" I hope you get this resolved quickly, and in your favor.

I did not use "Friends and Family" (lucky for that, since everyone is asking for that since the "new" tax on Paypal).
The other recourse is I used my credit card and I can tell my credit card company it was a fraudulent purchase.
One way or the other I'll get the money?
Thanks!

Nostalgia purchase Mike, gets you every time.
Looks like you got a box of sawdust and odds and ends.
I like your old EK Logictrol radio. Box and controls look exactly like my Blue Max four channel kit I built years ago.
I would let RC Groups know.

Regarding your radio, I think it would be neat if the transmitter could be retrofitted with a modern PCM RF deck and put back to use. I don't know if those RF kits from China are still available.
Agreed, the Golden Bee is an excellent engine. My Airtronics 36" Q-Tee back in the late 1970's was powered adequately by it. Flew it single channel with Ace R/C Pulse Commander on 72 MHz and KRD sequential auxilary quick blip throttle and an exhaust throttle ring on the Golden Bee. A year or two later, upgraded to a Charlies R/C (Charlie was Bill Cannon's wife) 4 channel Cannon 510 kit with 2 servos (rudder and elevator, removed throttle ring from the Golden Bee). I flew it when taking breaks from my studies at the University of Hawaii.
Charlie's R/C Cannon 510 transmitter and receiver.
Cannon (Dunham?) mini servos with modern micro receiver in the Q-Tee.
Regarding your Monarch kit purchase, you were definitely robbed, @sosam117. The thief substituted stubble of all sorts for the genuine article, a very real insult. The Bobcat instructions, broken protractor, etc. were a real tip off along with the balsa scraps.
I will ask of the Lord for this wrong to be righted, and that you get a prompt, full refund of your moneys.

well that SUCKS , sounds like you were excited to get the kit to live some nostalgia . Live brings disappointment but you shouldn't have to pay for it . Am sure you will get it resolved .

I'm fighting the same thing right now.
This Cox Helldiver arrived with broken vertical and horizontal stabilators via UPS. Box appears to be intact, almost identical to the same parts broken on one of my Gilberts. Contacted the seller with pictures, I asked that he petition the carrier (UPS) for damages, he responded that he sent it uninsured and offered me $50.00 compensation. The Helldiver is no prize, a little Testors Red tube and it's back in business.
I hope your seller is as conscientious.

Amazing, Bob, as much hard-to-repair damage as possible. The plastic repair is never stronger when flying surfaces are snapped like a twig.
I've had ukuleles shipped to me, you'd swear the shipping service's end goal was total destruction. I've even seen boot prints on the box, used the package as a stepping stone. In one case, this was USPS, someone folded the kit, a rare half-A ugly stick biplane so it would fit our standard mailbox, I guess the deliverer thought nothing of the horrendous balsa crunch noise.
Seems very few people these days do good work.

Re: Purchased a Airtronics Monarch 05 and got a surprise when it arrived!
package delivery these days reminds me of the opening two minutes of the movie "Ace Ventura - Pet Detective"
I am NOT a Jim Carrey fan
I did not like the movie
I do not recommend anyone waste their time with it
EXCEPT the first two minutes. Which is here on youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YrpmZFixp0
and this is the mental image - whenever I open a carrier-mangled box

Yes, cstatman, understand regarding Hollywood, but that little movie clip was an understatement.
I look back at the 1960's and 70's, never recalled seeing such mangled packages then. Some claim it is caused by poor packaging and automated equipment handling, but I think that is a smoke screen.
