Sterling F-51 Mustang
Here's another one just about completed. It was nice to get a no pressure day to complete some unfinished business. I posted this plane when it was just framed up. I was able to cover the wings and now it's onto the easier things to do. The kit is a original Sterling version. I built it for nostalgic purposes. Engine is a newer Enya .25. I'm using a removable single nose wheel. The original decals fell apart and wouldn't adhere when I tried to use them. Brodak reproduces the Sterling Yak-9 and F-51. I bought the decals from them and I have to put the remainders on. I have a Yak to build as well. A few weeks back I basically got rid of most of my older planes. Heartbreaking as it was, I don't miss them now. I used them severely and I have a lot of old kits I own that I want to build. Room is at a premium here.
